'Played Out' short film goes into preproduction.

Updated: Oct 2

'Played Out' is a beautiful tale of two very unlikely strangers making a connection in a short space of time.

It's the first of a series of short films under the theme of 'Tales After Midnight', the premise takes the most mundane settings, and finds the interesting stories in people, as we eavesdrop on different dynamics of connection and modern love.
While set in London, 'Tales After Midnight' will have a European tone, to appeal to a larger audience.
'Played Out' introduces us to the characters of Teddy and Roxy. Teddy Shaw is a washed up boxer now barfly, who dines on his story of being world champion for 8 seconds.
A parody of himself, he is more known for being nicknamed, 'The Sure Thing', a play on words of his surname, because he always lost a match. While he always means well, he remains a lonely shell of a man, unable to get away from his past.
Roxy is a friendly sex worker, but already weary of her trade, saving for better days, and pondering whether to run. When a client runs out on her, leaving her short for the night and with no way home, she spots what she assumes will be an easy target with Teddy, however the outcome of their night could not move in more different way, as they form a bond of friendship.
