Free Jazz Pictures is setting a New Wave of cinema creation, following in the footsteps of French and Hollywood New Wave film-makers of the past, to make films with a European tone, starting with mobile and digital cinematography to push the limits of what can be made with micro budgets, without the studio model.
I founded Free Jazz Pictures as a solo filmmaker, however actively seeking collaboration with others who equally enjoy working both in front and behind the camera. Free Jazz Pictures follows a few basic rules; collaboration is key, keep the stories simple and urban, don't shoot longer than 12 days, minimal film crew on location (no more than 3), and creativity with no limits. Sure micro budgets may not be a lot, but there is a wealth of stories out there to tell, that can engage the audience and draw them in, no matter the scale or size of the locations
There are several scripts down waiting to be made but Free Jazz is open to improvised cinema too, to open up creativity.
